In his paintings Johannes Bossisio is exploring the relationship between mankind and machine and the transgressions of dualism such as the separation of figure and ground, body and mind, material and Immaterial, organic and inorganic, animals and machines. With using metal and car scrap, he fuses binary forms in order to create hybrids. The machine becomes the extension of our limbs and senses. It is a translation of man’s action into mechanical re actions.
By reflecting Donna Haraway’s Cyborg Manifesto, Johannes Bossisio is creating examples of a sophisticated technology. The Cyborg is not only a mechanical version of the human being, but a dynamic transgression of human boundaries. It is the attempt of spiritual explorations, which involve man in new realities.
