Jan Vahl (1989, DE) is an artist who works with handcraft, moving image, sound and text to suggest post-dramatic narratives and decentralized forms of communication. The work offers spatial poems in which posthuman thinking can be evoked and the viewer assumes the meta-position of a hopeful drifter.
Vahl's practice aims to build on the tradition of craft with contemporary utopia and to let its elements such as egalitarian economies, barter systems and networking react with mutation processes that find their drive in overcoming the self.
