The Information Catalogue is based on a six-month image–research through contemporary visual media – film, magazines, and events in socio-cultural contexts. The archived images were recomposed by its visual aspects and content criteria. Accordingly, the catalog is understood as an eclectic collection of current visual media’s existing imagery. The reproduction of the images and juxtaposition of contents, regardless of their sources, forms the visual context of the work.
The approach to contemporary visual phenomenons does not necessarily require the medium of clothing… yet, conversely, fashion–phenomena require contemporaneity. Therefore, in this work fashion is understood to mean creative and visual strategies that are able to make the present and contemporaneous tangible. Information Collection transforms clothing into a carrier medium of visual information, whereas its content exists independently from clothing–specific content. Clothing thereby turns into a »screen«, a projection surface that transports information. With the transformation of the »looks« into 3D models, the Information Animation underlines the inter- changeability of media. It enables the work to break out of a purely clothing–related fashion con- text, and thus to negotiate structures of the contemporary beyond the boundaries of physical clothing.
